Met with Miranda

12-2 PM

It was my first day working with Miranda, and she was wonderful!  She set me up with a few stringing repairs and I worked through them (slowly) in between customers.  We got quite a few customers...I can definitely feel the holiday rush!

I am so looking forward to continuing my internship!

First Day Back!

Thursday Dec. 3 

2-5PM

I met with Angie to begin my internship again. It is so nice to be back! I can't wait to learn new skills and improve upon the things I learned over the summer!

We started slow, just a little finishing work on the initial pendants. It felt great to be working with my hands again!

Day 2

I continued to practice silk cord knotting. Danni also taught me how to bale. I really enjoyed practicing this and could even see some (minor) improvement with each new bale.

First Day!

Today was the first day of my apprenticeship. I learned a bit about the history of silk cord knotting, and then Angie taught me the technique. I used white coral and practiced for about an hour and a half. Although I had a few trouble spots, I think I began to get the hang of it! I'm almost done with an 18 inch strand. Hope to finish it tomorrow...
